How to Fold a Flag

Flag folding process

  1. Lay out flag and smooth any wrinkles:
    Step 1

  2. Fold flag lengthwise:
    Step 2

  3. Fold flag lengthwise again, making sure the stars remain outward in full view:
    Step 3

    • A large flag may have to be folded lengthwise a third time.

  4. Start a triangular fold as shown:

  5. Form a second triangle as shown:
    Step 5

  6. Continue folding triangles:
    Step 6

  7. You're finished when you see:
